E-Cert Renewal & EduTech Engage

PHSC’s E-Cert Renewal & EduTech Engage is an exciting new professional development experience to provide faculty with the necessary skills to continue to offer quality online teaching. 

EduTech Engage Live brings the power of peer learning to celebrate new and innovative educational technologies and strategies used in real-time classrooms. The E-Cert Renewal course will continue to build the faculty’s skillset on current technologies used at PHSC, implementing and supporting accessible educational content, AI strategies for online teaching, communication and feedback through Regular & Substantive Interaction techniques and quality course design using the Quality Matters lens and the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Framework. Topics and themes will change based on relevance and need. 

Training Frequency and PD Credits

E-Cert Renewal & EduTech Engage is EIT’s virtual learning experience for faculty and staff. Review the following information:

  • E-Cert Renewal is a yearly requirement for full-time and part-time faculty who teach online, remote or hybrid modalities. 
  • Each E-Cert Renewal training session provides faculty with 5 Professional Development Credits with a total of 15 professional development credits in 3 years. 
  • Participants within EduTech Engage can receive 1 Professional Development credit for each live session that is attended and registered for. 

E-Cert Renewal Participation Guidelines

Participating in E-Cert Renewal is easy. 

  • Engage and participate in the scheduled EduTech Engage Live Sessions throughout EduTech Month (February). 
  • Complete the yearly E-Cert Renewal Module within the Canvas Course. You must complete the following items: 
    • Watch all the pre-recorded discovery sessions in the yearly E-Cert Renewal Module. 
    • Participate and apply your skills in discussion forums and assignments. 

EduTech Engage Participation Guidelines

  • EduTech Engage are scheduled live sessions taught by a faculty peer or staff member who complete an approved proposal. 
  • During the month of EduTech, you can register and attend as many EduTech Engage live sessions as you want. 
  • Presenters who take time to hold an approved EduTech Engage Live Session will also receive 4 hours of professional development credit.
